I haven't done a portrait in ages and when you strictly compare it with the original, it really goes to show that I still have a lot to learn about drawing realistic settings. People's faces are especially unforgiving. One stroke in the wrong area and you get a completely different expression - but it made for an interesting exercise.

Bill Nighy is one of my favourite actors. Seriously, I could watch this guy for ages.

Mir gefällt wie kontrastreich das Portrait ist. Und die vielen Details am Kostüm und im Hintergrund hast du ganz toll hingekriegt!

Danke. Das war eigentlich mehr eine Übung zum abzeichnen. Das schlimme ist ja, dass man im Photoshop dann das Original darüber legen kann und dann sieht, dass es überhaupt nicht stimmt. Das ist dann immer deprimierend - ich kann dir das gar nicht empfehlen. :)

Thanks. It gets really depressing these days since you are able to overlay the original image over the drawn one and realize just how wrong you were in certain areas. Practice makes perfect, I guess.
