A while back I played the game "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines" and ever since then, I wondered what a character (or cosplay version) would look like, were I to play in a LARP or board RPG version of this game. This is the result.
My preferred clan is Gangrel. Not really because of all that nature loving romantic kitsch that is mostly associated with them (I couldn't care less if I could transform into a wolf or any other animal or not), but because they embrace the beast that they have become. They are ferocious fighters, strong, independent, often nomadic and mostly outside of any other clan structures. Those traits somehow always rang with me more than those of any other clan. The only downside to it is, that as a Gangrel you're mostly not too smart (I remember, that my character in the game would just plough through enemies in a fight, but couldn't read a book - so that's that for you).
Those who have seen this drawing at several stages, may note that I have removed a whole lot of detail from it towards the end. Originally, the black part between the houses was supposed to be visible, but I finally discarded it, as the whole thing would have become too busy and removed the focus from the character.
Yeah that’s true. I just really connected with them since they’re a little more in touch with they’re primitive side, being nomadic and being able to commune and control animals (some even with plant life from what I've read.) with they’re discipline of animalism. But being able to use Protean to shape shift into any animal really rocks or better yet, with it the Gangrel can change into mist or meld within the Earth and hide from the sun. That’s a pretty damn useful power for a vampire and another reason they’re my favorite clan.
Hmm... I never played the tabletop RPGs, so didn't know all this. But it sounds pretty interesting. Maybe almost too powerful. Thanks for that information. Too bad I live in a place where it is nigh on impossible to get people together to play VTM, otherwise I would love to start playing it.
Lol yeah they may seem a bit too powerful, but if you do enough research (Which I highly recommend if you’re interested in W.O.D) on the other clans and bloodlines and the powers they wield, you’ll be happy to have those Gangrel disciplines; because the other vampires have some scary as hell powers that can fuck up a character- trust me.
But anyway I never played the tabletop Vampire RPG either or any other RPG’s. I got some of the Vampire books, both Masquerade(the Old version.) and Requiem(the New version.), I’m trying to learn but unfortunately I’m in the same predicament you’re in. I don’t know ANYONE where I live that’s into tabletop RPG’S and I wish I could find some who would be interested playing vampire. It sucks we don’t live close to each other, if we did then could probably team up and start a Vampire game. The only thing I can suggest is to try looking online, like on a form or something for people that maybe interested in learning and playing. I was told to post something on White Wolf’s form for players in my area. I’ll probably try that once I have a better understanding of how the game works.
I think I will just take initiative and try to get a band of people together for a Vampire LARP (I know there were a few of those organized before, so I just need to get in touch with those responsible). I need to get the books as well at some point, preferably in German, since most people will not know English. It will be interesting.
Good luck with that. Getting hold of old world of darkness books can be… difficult, not impossible but a little difficult. The few that I acquired, I found on Amazon.com and those books were being sold through Amazon by other sellers. Just a friendly word of warning, most of these sellers are selling them used and others are claiming to have them brand new (which is total bull shit.) and are offering those books for outrageous prices. So just be wary when shopping for WOD books. As for finding copies in German, I have no idea where to find any, but I’m sure if you look hard enough you mite find some. If you don’t find any, maybe you can just get them in English, read it and translate it for your friends.
I really like the architecture in this, and the inking and contrasts are great. For me, it was usually Brujah (the revolutionaries), though the Malkavian was absolutely hilarious if you played through like that from time to time; I remember the news casts actually changed to some crazy sh*t if you were watching them as a Malkavian.

I just recently found this game and still have to play through as a Malkavian. I heard some hilarious things about it.
