I know that I haven't been a very active deviant these past few weeks. That was mostly due to the fact that I was participating in a anthropology excavation in South Africa for the last three weeks. I was practically away from civilisation for most of the time, so no wonder did I not have any access to the net.
Well, I'm back and of course, the fact that I was in South Africa does not mean that I have been idle.
I thought that I would make not only a single normal Kafei drawing, but a composition. I don't know yet how many characters there are going to be in there. Maybe it'll stop with Anju and Kafei. Or maybe there will be more, holding more masks. I don't know. It would have been better if Anju had held the moon and Kafei the sun mask and maybe I will still change that in the process. We'll see. I don't know how this is going to come out yet... ^^
you are lucky you had the experience! glad to see you are back. i have had artist's block and have been putting in a garden. one of my drawings was removed.
Yea! Sythiar submits a pic! Good job on the detail...this looks like a great picture...I guess her flat hair on the top is supposed to be like that because I rarely see a look like that...
Oh and that's an interesting way to spend some weeks...sounds like a fun trip but glad to see you are back...
Speaking of which, I'm getting to Ridley again so I can re-rip the video since last time the resolution was too high and the video skipped repeatedly during the upload. We can try sending it again over MSN some time, or if the video size decreases enough I can mail it to you. Screenshots don't really do it justice.

I'm planning on doing some work on that picture now finally. I have uni again, so I will take as much drawing material as I dare to the lessons. I hope that not too many people notice. And I hope that I can draw Samus in a way to do her justice.
Anyway: South Africa is wonderful! I'm still very filled with impressions from the journey, so I can't really say too much about it, but I will post some photos here as soon as they are developped. Ok? Stay tuned and have a look out for them in my scraps. ^^
-- I woke up and had this strange organic object in my hand. I've never seen anything quite like this before. It opened its eye and looked and me and said: 'How about an orange?'
Sieht jetzt schon stark aus! Bin gespannt wie's weitergeht...
P.S. Falls ich dir mit einem meiner Kommentare irgendwie auf die Zehen getreten sein sollte moechte ich mich dafuer aufrichtig entschuldigen! Ich finde halt oft nicht die richtigen Worte
I'd love to go to Africa some day. I saw it in the special features of the Star Wars DVD collection, where they shot several scenes for Tatooine. Actually, I want to go to Egypt more than anything.

I've not been anywhere near Egypt, but in South Africa which is a different thing altogether.
I think I need to get people around here away from believing that Africa is just one big continent where everything is pretty much the same and filled with deserts and black people... well, most people believe that anyway. Not that I blame them... it's just... if anything, Africa is culturally and landscape-wise even more diversified than Europe is. And that's saying a lot. Even where we were, we got so many different cultures clashing together and you could only drive for about 5 hours and find a whole different kind of place all together. Mostly people are surprised at this... but I guess that's just the way is.
Gee... uumm... I hope that message didn't sound rude or anything. I just thought I'd state that.
But Egypt... yeah, I'd really like to go there as well. Even though it seems that it is filled with tourists and archeologists from what I've heard. It will be hard to get to places where one can really enjoy this continent.

This is a collection of deviations showing real Pinups in the classic Retro poses from various Artists. For the 4rd time I present a variation of Vintage Pinup Queens as well as fresh modern Pinup art. Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
