I wanted to post this a few days ago, but it somehow didn't work. This is what I would have posted anyhow:

Ok, this is crazy!
I just had about one of the craziest evenings in a longer time. I reinstalled XP on my computer two days ago, since I wanted to repartition my hard drive - just to find out that something has gone terribly wrong. All day today I got blue screens of death at a rather random basis and pretty much every single program that I started up crashed and then is, let's say, very reluctant to start up again, if it starts up again at all. It even corrupted one of the paintings I was currently working on, destroying an evening’s worth of work (lucky I still have my safety copy on an external hard drive, but it is still frightening!)
I didn't know what’s going on (and I still don't), and since I really like my PC I am sick with worry now. Something like this has never happened to me before!

To relieve my frustration I turned on my small EEE-PC (which is only used in emergency cases) and browsed deviatart, when I noticed that my header read a 300 odd messages. My first thought was that deviantART had some sort of spamming or another similar problem, but when I read the comments and favs it started to dawn on me that I had a DD. It was like being thrown from a cold pool into a frying pan. One second I was oh so worried about the health of my computer, my data and my digital artwork and the next I was exhilarated and deeply moved by all the praise I got (though if I deserve it, only heaven knows...).

I was still all muddled when some friends came over later that evening to solve mathematical problems for a uni lecture together with my boyfriend.
And I'm still not over it.

I have a DD and my computer is sick.
I feel like a wanna cry and laugh manically at the same time.

As for the DD I just don't know what to say, except: thank you everyone for your kind words! I'm so happy and moved. And I will try to get back to everyone who commented, but I hope you understand that this takes time. So if you haven't heard from me, I will get back to you eventually!

UPDATE: My computer just died. Thankfully I made a backup and it's still under that warranty of mine. But it's nonetheless annoying. At least I can use my boyfriend's PC to paint.
